How does a tow truck drivers business relationship with AAA work? Do they pay you per tow, do they pay a flat fee, or something else?

AAA pays us 2 times a month on the amount of volume we do.

Are most tow trucking companies moving toward using flatbed trucks exclusively, or is there still need for the standard cable tow truck?

A flatbed is becoming more and more common due to more all wheel drive vehicles. But the standard wreckers (cable tow trucks) are still used today mainly for recovery and heavier trucks.
